PURPOSE:To improve oxygen gas consuming function of a negative pole by forming a layer of a mixture consisting of a metal powder and carbon powder on the surface of an electrode using a hydrogen-storage alloy for a negative pole material. CONSTITUTION:A hydrogen-storage electrode for a negative pole is an electrode on which a layer of a mixture consisting of a metal powder and carbon powder is formed. If metal powder of such as Ni, etc., is added to a conductive layer consisting of carbon powder, the conductivity of the negative pole surface is further improved and as compared with the inside of the negative pole, electric charging in the surface area becomes easy to proceed, so that an alloy storage hydrogen becomes easy to exit in the surface of the negative pole. For this reason, oxygen gas produced in a positive pole receives hydrogen easily from the alloy existing in the electrode surface area in the conductive layer and reduced to water easily using the carbon powder as a catalyst. |
