PURPOSE:To prevent the elution or migration of a metal salt of lactic acid to water, hot water or steam by compounding a metal salt of lactic acid with a polypropylene resin. CONSTITUTION:A medical appliance is constituted of a composition consisting of 100 pts.wt. of a polypropylene resin and 0.01-1 pts.wt. of a metal salt of lactic acid. As the polypropylene resin, a propylene homopolymer, a copolymer of alpha-olefin other than propylene, for example, ethylene, butene-1 or pentene-1 and vinyl chloride or vinyl acetate and a blend of these polymers and other polymer are used without limit. As the metal salt of lactic acid to be used, an alkali metal salt of lactic acid such as sodium lactate or potassium lactate and an alkaline earth metal salt of lactic acid such as calcium lactate, barium lactate or magnesium lactate are pref. used. |
