A method for burying and then covering mining waste, domestic or industrial waste disposal sites or low-risk material comprises the use of a lime-containing material that has a seepage or rain water permeability of /~ 4 x 10-10. The material comprising a mixture of calcium carbonate and rotting sludge is used to form a foundation layer with a thickness of 0.1-0.4 m and then form /- 1 cover layer having a thickness of 0.3-0.5 m. The lime component preferably comprises gypsum, optionally slaked lime or just calcium carbonate.
