The incorporated thin-film transistor (4) is covered by a levelling layer (16) applied to the same side of one of the substrate plates (1) as the thin-film transistor. The levelling layer has an applied transparent electrode (17) and an alignment layer (18). Pref., the thin-film transistor has a thickness about /micron and is overlaid by a SiO2 levelling layer (16) with a thickness of about 2 microns. ADVANTAGE - Eliminates difference between gap width in thin-film transistor and display zones.
