Continuous casting plant has an intermediate ladle for charging melt received from a pouring ladle to the casting mould, a railmounted transfer car which moves the intermediate ladle between the mould station and a stripping section, and a tipper in the stripping section for tipping ladle and car to remove molten slag and residues.
