Substrate consists of an array of parallel support plates which are made of an inert material. Wiper elements are provided between them for cleaning their surfaces. Support plates are generally parallel to the direction of gas flow, are attached to rods and are sepd. by distance pieces. Distance between the plates is in the range of about 2-10mm. Atomising nozzles are located upstream of the support plates for moistening the plates with water or a conditioning liq.. USE/ADVANTAGE - Used as substrate for bilogical materials in the cleaning of gases. No need for use of granular substrate materials, e.g. high gas pressure drop, too high or too low a filter moisture.
