PURPOSE:To wipe a wiped surface of a laterally long head lamp and the like by sliding an arm piece and an arm head as contracting against a repelling means when the rotation of a wiper blade reaches a determined quantity, and rotating the wiper blade while narrowing the wiping range. CONSTITUTION:An arm head 1 in this wiper device S is formed of a mounting part 1a mounted on a rotating shaft E, and a bottomed hollow part 1c having an opening part 1b formed on the opposite side end part from the mounting part 1a, and the arm piece 2 is mounted in the hollow part 1c of the arm head 1. A compression coil spring 3 is installed between the bottomed part of the hollow part 1c of the arm head 1 and the projection part 2a of the arm piece 2 to energize the arm piece 2 in extended state, and a wiper blade 4 is mounted on the other end side of the arm piece 2 with an angle of theta1 by a connecting member 8. A means A for rotating the wiper blade 4 by a determined quantity against the arm piece 2 is provided, and this means A is formed of a locking projection 2d, a stopper 5, and a compression twisted spring 6.
