The electronic controller incorporative a programmed memory for two or more operational parameters of the engine, and simulates the temporal behaviour of the pressure of the supercharging air, eliminating the need for an air pressure gauge. The parameters monitored for comparison with the stored criteria may be the rotational speed of the engine and a quantity (pref. the position of a control rod) which represents the amt. of fuel injected. Alarm signals may be given. ADVANTAGE - Rapid adjustment is possible esp. under light loading or during load changes, at low cost.
