<p>A velour-type or textile velour substrate has a rough surface at least on one side, onto which an foamed polymer is applied with partial impregnation of the surface. The substrate consists at least partly of a fleece (non-woven) or knitted fabric; the surface to which the polymer is to be applied is ground before the applicn so that the fibres of the fleece or knitted fabric project at least partly. Pref., the polymer facing layer comprises not only open air cells formed by the action of the air but also hollow micro-spheres to form closed cells. Some of these microspheres may also be open at least at the contact zone. Cell size is pref less than 125 micron. The substrate pref. comprises synthetic fibres, e.g. of polyester or polyamide. The fibres are pref. thinner than 3.5, esp. less than 2 dtex.</p> |
