PURPOSE:To manufacture easily the fiber-reinforced plastic product excellent in specific strength and high in fiber content by a method in which a part of the mold face which defines a cavity is composed of a flexible sheet, and pressure is applied to the flexible sheet from outside, whereby the pressure in the cavity is controlled. CONSTITUTION:Reinforcing fiber F is arranged in the cavity 4 of a mold 1, and the upper surface of the mold 1 is covered with a sheet 2, thereby sealing up the cavity 4. A pressure-holding vessel 3 is fixed onto the upper surface of the mold 1 through the sheet 2, and compressed air is introduced in a space 6 from a pressure-introducing port 3a. Then the inside of the cavity 4 is evacuat ed. Unreacted raw material-liquid L is injected into the cavity 4 in vacuum state from a resin-injecting port 1b. While the pressurizing due to compressed air is continued, the raw material-liquid L is injected. When the supply of the raw material-liquid L of prescribed amount is finished, and before the reaction- curing of the raw material-liquid L in the cavity 4 is completed, the compressing pressure fed to the pressure-holding vessel 3 is increased. After the curing of the resin has been finished, the pressure-holding vessel 3 and the sheet 2 are removed, and a product is obtained. |
