<p>The invention relates to a control device for a double acting hydraulic actuator (10) comprising in a main circuit a distributing system (28, 28', 34, 34') controlled by electrical means, and controlling the communication of each of the two actuator chambers (14, 16), selectively, with a high-pressure fluid source (20, 26) or with a low-pressure fluid reservoir (24), an auxiliary circuit controlled by means (76) which are sensitive to the position of the actuator (10) piston (12).
<??>According to the invention, the auxiliary circuit comprises a slide valve (50) which ensures the return of the actuator (10) piston (12) to a rest position in the event of failure of the electrical control means by operating the distributing system (34, 34') of the main circuit.
