The container cardboard lid (2a) has a reinforcing, stabilising ring (4a) round the edge of the peripheral flange (3a) of the lid (2a). On the inside and/or outside of the peripheral flange the stabilising ring is adhered or welded. The lid is made of a cardboard round disc, whose edge is folded by a tool. Its adhered, or welded configuration pref. forms the reinforcing ring.
