A hinge is described having first and second members (2,4) for respective attachment to two components to be hingedly interconnected. A movement arrestor is provided which serves as a check on the hinging movement of the two hinge members (2,4). The arrestor comprises a cam surface (36) on the first hinge member (4) and a roller (40,42) mounted on the second hinge member (2). The roller (40,42) is resiliently displaceable relative to the said second member (2) to force the roller (40,42) into engagement with the cam surface (36) so as to provide the desired check. In accordance with the invention the roller (40,42) includes a polymer sleeve (66) with which it engages the cam surface (36), to absorb and thereby reduce the noise and to reduce the wearproduced as the roller (40,42) moves over the cam surface (36) as the hinge is opened and closed. The sleeve material may be PTFE or Nylon and may be snap fitted over the roller (40,42) and may include an aerial slot (68).
