<p>PURPOSE:To extract lipids having a high content of sphingolipid with a high extraction rate and to recover the solvent easily by extracting a lipid mixture from a dried animal viscera using methanol as a solvent under heating. CONSTITUTION:Visceras such as fresh brains, spinal cords, placentas, etc., of bovines, pigs, horses, etc., just after slaughter are lyophilized, or alternately mixed with acetone, stirred, and then filtered, followed by the desiccating of the residue, thereby obtaining a dried material. About 400-800ml of methanol is added to 100g of powder obtained by grinding the dried material and the mixture is heated with stirring at or below the boiling point of methanol, usually at 25-64.5 deg.C, for 1-2hr. A lipid mixture having a high content of sphingolipid can be efficiently extracted with a high extraction rate. Also, the solvent can easily be recovered, and an inexpensive product having high quality can be provided in the production of a lipid mixture.</p> |
