<p>PURPOSE:To execute transmission suitable for the characteristics of respective media information by respectively additionally inserting identification signals at every classification of an expression medium such as sound signals and MODEM signals and selecting the procedures of a packet assembly processing. CONSTITUTION:Sound information and picture information is inputted to an encoder/decoder part 15, identified, encoded and sent to an identification signal insertion part 16. In the identification signal insertion part 16, a sound signal identifier A is inserted to the head of an encoded sound signal train 21 and a MODEM signal identifier M is inserted to the head of an encoded MODEM signal train 22. Then, those identifiers are sent to a packet assembly/disassembly part 17. The packet assembly/disassembly part 17 executes a processing such as reducing a packet size or applying a priority order to packet transmission in the case of the identifier A and executes a packet protocol processing to consider code error control suitable for the processing of data information as important in the case of the identifier M. Thus, the packet assembly processing can suitably be executed for the characteristics of the respective multimedium information such as sound signals and MODEM signals.</p> |
