PURPOSE:To improve a refresh rate by time-sequentially executing the scanning of scanning lines without blanking both horizontal and vertical scanning and allowing the scanning end point of a certain field to coincide with the scanning start point of the succeeding field. CONSTITUTION:Horizontal scanning lines are used as video signals for both the forward and backward horizontal scanning, and when scanning is shifted from an odd-order field to an even-order field, vertical scanning is continuously executed in the direction reversed from that of the preceding field to display images and the scanning end point 11 of the final scanning line 18 is allowed to coincide with the scanning start point 11 or the preceding field. Thereby, time-sequential scanning can be executed without blanking both the horizontal and vertical scanning. Consequently, the refresh rate can be improved or a video signal band can be reduced. |
