<p>It ensures coherence of data modifications in a database network comprising: a relational database (4) which constitutes a reference; and at least one database accessible in real time (7); the data of the relational database (4) being replicated at least partly in databases accessible in real time (7). In order to permit an application process (22 to 24) to modify data in all of the network, the method consists in: - sending a data modification request, in SQL language, from the application process (22 to 24), to a pool of process servers (26, 27) of an operating system of the relational database (4); - assigning a process server to this request for the whole duration of its processing; - sending the modification request, in dynamic SQL language, from the pool of process servers (26, 27) to a management system (3) of the relational database (4); and executing this request; - determining the databases, accessible in real time (7), which are concerned by the modification request; - transferring this request to them in a form compatible with a management system (6) for each database concerned (7); - executing the modification request, in each database concerned.
