PURPOSE:To understand instantly the cause of the generation of a state signal from the state of an equipment symbol by extracting a state signal item and logic operator data corresponding to a selected equipment symbol, and emphasizing and displaying an item being generated in a different color on a plant equipment state signal display device with the state signal. CONSTITUTION:A state signal which is currently obtained and a last obtained state signal are compared with each other to decide whether the state varies form '0' to '1' or from '1' to '0' and when there is variation, it is judged whether or not the state signal indicating the variation occurrence is registered as a warning item. When the warning item is registered, it is judged whether the state signal indicates the occurrence or recovery and an alarm 6 is made to sound in case of the occurrence. Then the state signal corresponds to the plant equipment symbol for a plant equipment state display 8 is processed logically to decide an operation, stop, or fault state, and plant equipment symbols are displayed while colored differently corresponding to the operation, stop, and fault states. Then the state signal item and logic operator data corresponding to the selected symbol are extracted to display the plant equipment state signals on a plant equipment state signal display unit.
