PURPOSE:To obtain the title device of synthesizing soot capable of readily synthesizing soot neither too much nor too less by laying soot weight detecting sensors at a position loaded with soot weight by seed bar support driving mechanism and measuring the soot weight on line. CONSTITUTION:In a device of synthesizing soot of optical fiber shown by the figure, a seed bar 2 is reciprocated while being rotated to synthesize soot 5 on the outer periphery of the seed bar 2 by a burner 3. In the operation, weight of the soot 5 is successively detected by soot weight detecting sensors 16A and 16B and when the weight of the soot 5 reaches given weight, synthesis of the soot 5 is stopped. Then the seed bar 2 having finished synthesis of the soot 5 is removed from chucks 6A and 6B, taken out of a container 1 and replaced with another seed bar 2. Though clearance at sealing parts 15A and 15B, for example, is 0.3-1mm, a reaction product and a raw material gas in a housing 1 will not come out because the housing 1 is in negative pressure. |
