PURPOSE:To provide an industrial antimicrobial agent having excellent antimicrobial activity persistence and stability and useful as a slime controlling agent, an agent for preventing the putrefaction of starch, etc., by compounding an isothiazolone clathrate compound and a halogenated nitroalcohol compound. CONSTITUTION:An antimicrobial agent for industry contains (A) an isothiazolone clathrate compound and (B) a halogenated nitroalcohol compound in a weight ratio of 1:20-5:1. The component A is a compound prepared by including a gest compound consisting of a compound of formula I (R<1> is H, alkyl, alkenyl, alkinyl, aralkyl; R<2>, R<3> are H, halogen) (e.g. 5-chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazoline-3- one) in 1,1,6,6-tetraphenyl-2,4-hexadiyne-1,6-diol, and the component B includes a compound of formula II (X is halogen; R<a> is H, halogen, lower alkyl, etc; R<b> is H, lower). The antimicrobial agent does not cause the problem of emulsion composition and has an extremely high antimicrobial activity. |
