PURPOSE:To use thermal transfer ink paper as general office paper and image receiving paper for a sublimation type printer by providing a dyeing layer containing no dye and a dye-containing layer on the same surface of a base material. CONSTITUTION:A dyeing layer 2 containing no dye and a dye-containing layer 3 are provided on the same surface of a base material 1. The dye-containing layer 3 consists of layers respectively containing yellow, magenta and cyan dyes and a transfer preventing layer 4 is pref. provided on the dye-containing layer 3. As the dyeing layer 2, for example, a butyral resin layer or a polyester resin layer is used. As the base material 1, for example, polyethylene terephthalate or polyimide is used. This thermal transfer ink paper is superposed on image receiving paper such as PPC paper, natural paper, art paper, coated paper, synthetic paper or bond paper to be brought into contact therewith under heating and pressure by a thermal head and the dyeing layer 2 is peeled off from the base material 1 of the ink paper to be transferred to the image receiving paper and, subsequently, the dye in the dye-containing layer 3 is sublimed to be diffused and transferred to the dyeing layer 2 and fixed thereto to complete printing. |
