PURPOSE:To give natural effect, timbre by timbre, by knowing timbre information which specifies timbre assigned to a sound generation channel, reading out effect information on a specific address position based upon the timbre information in a random access storage means, and giving musical effect to the musical sound of the channel according to the read effect information. CONSTITUTION:A random access memory 2 is stored with the timbre information which specifies the timbre assigned to the channel specified by channel information. A random access memory 6 is stored with plural pieces of cumulative effect information for giving the musical effect to a musical sound. When a musical sound of one channel is generated, an output means 12 reads the timbre information corresponding to the channel out of a timbre information storage means 2 and reads effect information on the specific address position based upon the timbre information out of the random access storage means 6, thereby outputting the information. A giving means 14 gives the musical effect to the musical sound to be generated over the channel according to the effect information. Consequently, the natural effect can be given, timbre by timbre. |
