PURPOSE:To securely insert a document irrelevantly to whether a document tail end detection unit is used or not by switching the document tail end detection unit between a 1st position where a document which is guided by document guides can be detected and a 2nd position where the insertion of the document is not impeded. CONSTITUTION:The document guides 24 each consist of a guide main body 55 and a width matching side plate 56 and can freely move to or away from both right and left sides of a document setting part 57 (figures show only the right side). The document tail end detection unit 25 can be switched between the 1st position where the document 61 can be detected and the 2nd position where the insertion of the document 61 is not impeded by moving a slide plate 60 to A or B as shown by an arrow. The document tail end detection unit 25 when not used is moved away to the 2nd position and the document is inserted. The document tail end detection unit when used is set at the 1st position to securely detect the tail end of the document 61. |
