<p>PURPOSE:To rapidly reproduce a still picture only by changing for a normal reproducing mode when this desired still picture is reproduced under a high speed reproducing mode by carrying a tape-like recording medium once in the reverse direction in accordance with a changeover from the high speed reproducing mode to the normal reproducing mode. CONSTITUTION:A tape T is fed in the forward direction at n-times the speed for recording, and during this high speed reproducing, when this mode is shifted to the normal reproducing mode by a reproducing key 67, the tape is reversely fed by a capstan control circuit 53 by a prescribed amt. When this, as it is, is shifted to the normal reproducing mode, the reproducing is started from a still picture in a still picture area next to the present still picture area under tracing, where pictures under tracing are not reproduced at all during the mode shifting time. A rewinding amt. at the time of changing for the normal mode is set by two screens of the still picture area. By this operation, at the time of operating the reproducing key 67, a still picture outputted under the high speed reproducing mode is reproduced first. Consequently, the operability is improved, and the desired picture can easily be retrieved.</p> |
