PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of a spitting phenomenon and enhance the yield of a molten steel by a method wherein refining is conducted with slag minimized by utilizing the slag derived from the preceding charge as a slagmaking agent in the next-time refining, when refining a pretreated low-Si molten pig iron by removing P and C. CONSTITUTION:In the refining through decarburization and dephosphorization of the low-Si molten pig iron obtained by pretreating a molten pig iron to accelerate the desiliconizing reaction only, a part of the refining slag derived from the preceding charge is made to remain, the residual slag of the preceding charge is mixed with lime to form a slagmaking agent, and the thus formed slagmaking agent is utilized in the next-time refining to conduct the refining with slag minimized. Accordingly, the loss of iron due to spitting is restricted and the cost of adjuvants is reduced. |
