The frame (1) of the feedthrough fits through the deck or bulkhead (2) via an opening (3) and is retained by a flange (4). The frame has a pair of filling openings (5), one on each side of the wall. The electric cables (6) or cables occupy only some 30 percent of the volume of the frame. The rest of the volume is filled via the openings with a heat absorbent material (7). The ends of the feedthrough are sealed using a water repellent material (8), such as vulcanised rubber.
