Chair which comprises a seat 5 which tilts automatically and continuously so that it modifies the position of the body of the person seated on it. In comparison with known chairs, the furniture item of the present invention has the advantage of breaking up or interrupting the immobility of the body and the rigidity of the muscles and joints. The regular and continuous tilting movement of the seat of the furniture item does not bother the person seated on it and gives rise to movements of the pelvic region and causes the spinal muscles to work. It thus improves circulatory activity and increases awareness of the spine even when the body is in the seated position. <IMAGE>
