The folding machine proper coincides essentially with patent 8702881, with the exception that its upper hammer is modular and its support is assisted by a wedge which allows the retraction thereof in order to release the prefolded edges of the metal sheet. In front of the folding machine proper, there is a fixed support table 3 for the sheet metal, which table is provided with positioning stops corresponding to the zero dimension, said table 3 having a longitudinal and central space 5, a carriage 6 being located underneath it and also provided with a central space where the conventional rotary platform 12 is located, said carriage having projections 18 which emerge slightly through the space 5 for fastening the metal sheet with the assistance of a hammer 16 mounted on the centre of a gantry (portal) 15 which can be displaced longitudinally with the actual carriage 6, to which fixing zone the metal sheet is transferred from its initial position, by means of a fastening piece 22 provided with clamps which secure the metal sheet via one of its edges and which moves it over guides for said fastening piece 22 established along the gantry 15, which gantry can be displaced with the actual table 6 by a motor 9 and via a rod/nut transmission. <IMAGE>
