Device consisting of an emitter/receiver of waves capable of giving rise to echoes on account of reflection on an object, which echoes are received by the receiver, located in a variable number at the rear and lower part of the vehicle, which emitters/receivers are coupled to a microprocessor which translates the time elapsing between the emitting and receiving of the reflection wave into units of length which, digitally or in analogue form, are visualized on a panel located in a place easily visible by the driver. The microprocessor has an encoder which establishes a minimum distance between vehicle and obstacle, for which an acoustic and visual warning is generated when this minimum distance to the object is achieved, in order to stop the vehicle at that moment.
