PURPOSE:To keep high printing density without hindrance in spite of repeated use and to repeatedly print an image of high quality by a thermal head by constituting an ink layer of a microporosity forming resin and a heat-meltable ink component and adding specific fatty acid ester to the heat-meltable ink component. CONSTITUTION:An ink layer is composed of a single layer consisting of a microporous resin structure and heat-meltable ink. As the heat-meltable ink component, a composition consisting of ester of C20 or more fatty acid ester among glycerine fatty acid ester based on monoglyceride and/or sorbitan fatty acid ester, for example, behenic monoglyceride, candelilla wax, polyethylene oxide wax and carbon black is prepared and a vinyl chloride/vinyl acetate copolymer is added to and mixed with the composition and the obtained mixture is dispersed in a toluene/methyl ethyl ketone mixed solvent and the resulting dispersion is applied to a base material and dried to form an ink layer to obtain a thermal transfer recording medium. |
