SURFACE MODIFICATION OF CARBON FIBER

摘要

PURPOSE:To improve wetting property of the surface and stabilize with passage of time by subjecting the surface of carbon fiber to fluorination treatment and treating with alkali. CONSTITUTION:The surface of carbon fiber is subjected to fluorination treatment preferably at a temperature <=90 deg.C for <=10min and treated with an alkali (e.g. hydroxide of K, Na or Ba, etc., preferably in concentration of 0.1-0.001 N) to modify the surface. Besides, partial pressure of fluorine in fluorine gas is preferably 1-50mmHg.
