PURPOSE:To remove unfavorable influence due to the inertia of an oscillating body by exciting a damping means so that detected oscillation is canceled. CONSTITUTION:An AC voltage is impressed from an AC power supply 17 to an exciting piezo-electric element 14 and the oscillating body 11 is oscillated in the x-axis direction. When the body 11 is rotated around the z-axis at the angular velocity OMEGA, the body11 is oscillated in the y-axis direction by Corioli's force. Thereby a voltage signal is generated from a piezo-electric element 15, amplified by an operational amplifier 18 and supplied to a damping piezo-electric element 16. Thereby, the element 16 is driven so as to cancel the y-axis direction oscillation of the body 11. The angular velocity OMEGA is detected as the output of the amplifier 18. Since the y-axis direction oscillation is cancelled, the influ ence of inertia can be removed even if the angular velocity OMEGA is large, thereby improving response. |
