ALUMINUM MATERIAL FOR CAN EXCELLENT IN CORROSION RESISTANCE

PURPOSE:To form an org. film having excellent corrosion resistance by making constant the content and glass transition temp. of the phenol resin in paint applied to aluminum. CONSTITUTION:A phenol resin is contained in a water-solouble epoxy resin being a matrix resin in an amount of 2wt.% or more to make it possible to impart hydrophobicity to the film of the water-soluble epoxy resin in a degree exceeding the hydrophilicity of the film originally possessed by the water-soluble epoxy resin being the matrix resin and the water resistance such as moisture content or water-permeability of the film is markedly enhanced. The content of the phenol resin in the water-soluble epoxy resin being the matrix resin is set to 2-25wt.%. Further, by setting the glass transition temp. of the film to 90 deg.C or higher, excessive corrosion resistance is obtained.
