<p>In the case of a coupling device for a speed controller, particularly in motor vehicles, a hollow cylindrical connection pipe (1) is firmly connected to an actuating drive (2) in order to achieve simple and cost-effective manufacturing and assembly and to ensure rapid and easy adaptability to a predetermined adjusting device, the connection pipe being joined on that side remote from the actuating drive via an adaptor device to a hollow cylindrical adaptor (4). On the side remote from the actuating drive (2) the adaptor (4) has a cover (5) with a through-hole (6). In order to uncouple the actuating drive from the adjusting device when the adjusting device is operated manually, a coupling rod (7) is mounted slidably in one section of the through-hole. The coupling rod (7) has, on that side facing the actuating drive, a swelling (8) which is greater than that section of the through-hole (6) in which the coupling rod is mounted.
