<p>A system (10) and method for implanting an underground device. The system (10) includes a hollow body (12) for containing said underground device and a drive cone (22) adapted to penetrate the ground. The drive cone (22) is removably attached to the hollow body (12) so that once the system (10) is driven into the ground to a desired depth, the hollow body (12) may be pulled upward slightly to cause the drive cone (22) to be removed. This permits underground fluids to enter the hollow body (12) and the underground device. The system provides a durable and inexpensive means for sampling fluids from a desired depth without requiring the drilling of a well.</p> |
