<p>A high-speed continuous mixer (10) for solids and liquids has a horizontal tubular vessel (11) with a semi-cylindrical bottom (19) and a mixer shaft (22) coinciding with its axis. Multiple crescent-like flat blades (28) are mounted on the shaft (22) at right angles thereto and clear the semi-cylindrical bottom (19) by a small distance. Each crescent-like blade (28) has a tapered knife edge (30) on its convex periphery which has a sweeping shape to provide, when rotated, a slicing action through the mass undergoing mixing while moving from the feed end (24) to the discharge end (26) of the tubular vessel (11). Remarkable high-speed production of dough for pasta and baked goods is achieved as an example of the outstanding performance of the mixer (10).</p> |
