Polyvinyl halide resin absent allylic halide is disclosed. Another polyvinyl halide resin absent allylic halide, allylic branching and unsaturation is also disclosed. The compositions of this invention are prepared by contacting any polyvinyl halide resin with a hydrogen-substituting compound that has a selective affinity for the allylic chlorines.
