Oxidised polyethylene having average no. mol.wt. 7000-15000 (3000-14000), as determined by gel permeation chromatography, is used as mould release additive for ester gp.-free thermoplastic, aromatic polycarbonates opt. contg. also other thermoplastics. The amt. of additive is 0.05-3 (0.08-1) esp. 0.1-0.8 wt.% w.r.t. the total wt. of thermoplasts.
