The machine is used for successive removal of a container (2) from a stack of interfitting containers (2). The containers may be plastics beakers for filling with food. The machine incorporates a removal-head (4) on the end of a stack-guide. At least two removal-rollers (5, 6) turn together in the direction of removal on axles (7, 8) crosswise to the axis (9) of the stack (3) of beakers, and at a tangent to or parallel to the periphery of the stack. The outside (11, 12) of the removal-rollers (5, 6) have at least one plane (13, 14) containing the pivot axle (7, 8). USE/ADVANTAGE - A container is easily removed from a stack by mechanical action on the rims.
