The combination lock is for a trunk, briefcase etc., having setting wheels for the combination which can be altered from the outside. Coaxial coupling bushes (8) accommodate the wheels, with which they can be engaged and disengaged. A lug opens the lock and a sliding bolt (25). Spring segments (21) formed on the housing work with flats on the bush peripheries so as to free the bolt, and lock the latter when they bear against the remaining portions.
