PURPOSE:To accurately detect an image position shift at all times without reference to problems such as characteristic variance, change in the lapse of time of sensors, etc., by detecting the position shift between two images directly from an input image signal. CONSTITUTION:A video switching circuit 16 stores image signal S of time (t) in a memory 17a as a 1st image signal S1 and an image signal S which is DELTAt later in a memory 17b as a 2nd image signal. A difference detector 21 finds the difference between the signals S1 and S2 for each signal of a corresponding picture element. A difference image signal S3 is inputted to a computing element 22 to find a vertical image position shift due to the pitching of the automobile 5. If it is judged that there is the position shift, the computing element 22 finds the quantity of this position shift according to the correlation between the (y) projection of the difference image signal S3 and the (y) projection of the 1st image signal S1. |
