PURPOSE:To stabilize battery characteristic by setting the ratio of housing member constituting height to charged material constituting height within a determined ratio range. CONSTITUTION:The total height of the height of a sealing plate 1, the bottom thickness of a gasket 3, the height of a case in battery 7, and the plate thickness of a battery case 2 is a housing member constituting height H1. The total height of the plate thickness of the sealing plate 1, the thickness of a negative electrode 5, the plate thickness of the case in battery 7, the plate thickness of the battery case 2, and the height of the projection 9 of the case in battery 7 is a charged material constituting height H2. A battery is formed to hold the relation of O<=(H2-H1)/H1X100<=60 between the two heights H1 and H2. Hence, vertical contact balance in the battery is never lost by the deformation of the negative electrode at the time of battery operation, and battery characteristic is stabilized. |
