FILTER CANDLE

There is disclosed a filter candle which is easily handled and economically manufactured. The filter candle disclosed in the present invention is especially used for gas filter equipment and consists of an inherently dimensionally stable, especially sintered material. The filter candle is composed of mutually telescoping filter candle segments. Such filter candle segments are easily handled and not susceptible to destruction. If individual regions of the filter candle are damaged or clogged, the filter candle need not be exchanged as a whole, merely the particular filter candle segment effected. The cross-section of the telescoped-apart filtered candle tapers off in one direction. The segments support each other in a geometrically locking manner and the mutual bracing in the telescoped-apart condition can be implemented by projections forming inward flanges on the lower side and outward flanges at the upper side.
