A switched lampholder comprising a generally tubular housing, a socket (11) at one end of the housing for holding an electric lamp, two contacts (17) in the socket for providing electric current to the electric lamp and a switch means (16) within the housing for making and breaking the supply of electric current ot the contacts, in which the switch means is activated by axial movement relative to the housing and axially slidable relative thereto, the sleeve (20) rests on the switch actuator (19) which is connected to the switch means via a rod or puley (35). Internal illumination (24) within the lampholder can be provided. |
