An element (14) of the bullet catcher (2) comprising an allround water-permeable tear-resistant cover (18) forms an expanding closed inner chamber, which accomodates a cellulose pulp (16) comprising a superabsorber. At least one dry element (14) is arranged a t the place where the bullet catcher (2) is to be produced and is dampened. Water is supplied to the swelling elements (14) until saturation thereof, thereby forming a gel, the extensibility of the cover (18) being retained even when the pulp (16) is completely saturated with water. According to a first variant, the bullet catcher (2) is suitable for a military combat shelter, especially a temporary one, which can be produced very rapidly and safely, irrespective of the terrain. According to a second variant, the ricochet shot-resistant bullet catcher (2) is used behind a target surface or a target of a shooting range. |
