CHLOROFIBERS WITH PERMANENT ANTISEPTIC CHARACTER AND PROCESS FOR THEIR PRODUCTION

The fibrous polymeric material based on polyvinyl chloride contains at least one antiseptic mercury derivative distributed in its polymeric structure in the form of a substantially molecular and practically non-releasable dispersion. The preferred mercury derivatives have the following general formula: in which Y is H or HgX. If the concentration of the derivative is equal to at least 0.5% by weight, relative to the chlorofiber, the latter has a permanent antiseptic character. This material is obtained by incorporating the above-mentioned derivative into the collodion when the chlorofiber is spun.
