The test bench consists of a sturdy body - considered to be rigid - on which a blade is mounted in a bracket. The sturdy body-blade assembly is suspended on pneumatic cushioning. As a result, a free-mode single dynamic system is obtained, which is better than the traditional blade testing because the blade is mounted in a fixed holder and allows an accurate assessment of modal parameters and the pairing of the unit blade set based upon the proximity of values of the natural mode frequencies of the blades. In addition, many defects of the blade can be detected.
