The invention relates to a circuit for identifying the sequence of 8-fields in the PAL television signal, starting solely from the complex video signal. Its field of application is the high precision processing of the video signals or the entering of a field numerical code, with the possibility of a precise identification of the field 1 in the PAL sequence of 8-fields, with the advantage of an excellent protection against perturbations from the video signal, as well as of an easy implementation using conventional components.
