PROCESS FOR ALKALINE TREATING OF COTTON TYPE TEXTURES

Alkaline treatment of cotton-type fabrics improves the after-effects of cleaning and protection of the substrate. This is achieved by immersion in a bath of 30-40 g/l NaOH and 15-17 g/l of a synergistic mixt. of surface active and non surface active cpds.. In order to complete the reaction the material is rolled up and allowed to stand for three hours at 90-100 deg.C or it is rolled up and steamed for 20 mins. at 100-103 deg.C. Finally fabrics are washed and rinsed.
