PURPOSE:To facilitate getting coffee of proper temperature and volume by a method wherein programs concerning a water amount and a water temperature in an upper container are selected from operation programs set in advance are merely selected to perform an automatic heating suitable for the water amount and water temperature and an automatic stopping of heating when it is to be filtered, and an automatic reheating upon completion of the filtering operation. CONSTITUTION:In addition to three kinds of operation programs of the first stage heating step for heating water contained in an upper container 1, the second stage heating stopping step for stopping a heating operation only for a time required to perform a filtering operation with a filter 3 and the third stage reheating step for heating coffee stored in a lower container 4 upon completion of the filtering operation for a specified period of time for the amounts of water in the container 1 for one to three persons; two kinds of operation programs for adjusting the first stage heating time are set for each of the water amounts and thus a program corresponding to the water amount and water temperature in the upper container 1 can be selected from a total number of 9 operating programs under an operation at the operating part 11.
